PhD student Neuroscience– University of Freiburg, Germany       

 

The Institute for Physiology I of the Albert-Ludwigs-University Freiburg is offering to the next possible point of time a PhD position in the group “Systemic and Cellular Neurophysiology“.

The proposed project will focus on in vivo identification and recordings of GABAergic cells in the rodent dentate gyrus.


Your profile:

As applicant, you have got an academic M. Sc. degree with very good grades in neuroscience. You have a background in the application of electrophysiological and optophysiological techniques. You have experience in using MatLab.

We further expect a high degree of interdisciplinary thinking, the willing to integrate into a motivated team and a focused and result-orientated working style.

The position is first limited to one year with the possibility to an extension of two more years and will be funded following the German scale classification TV-L 13.

Neuroscience PostDoc research position –- 

 

In vivo Population Imaging in the hippocampus of behaving mice.

 

The Institute for Physiology I of the Albert-Ludwigs-University Freiburg is offering to the next possible point of time a PostDoc position in the group ´Systemic and Cellular Neurophysiology´.

 

Your profile:

We are looking for an experienced postdoc to join the group and to perform in vivo electrophysiological (LFP; single unit) and optical recordings as well as manipulations of defined neuron types in mouse cortical networks to examine their role in behavior.

Suitable applicants should have ample experience in slice or in vivo electrophysiology as well as the ability to perform creative and independent research. Additionally, applicants should possess technical knowledge and be experienced in the handling of rodents. Applicants should hold a doctoral degree in physiology, neurobiology or related disciplines with a focus on neuroscience.

We offer an attractive working place in a young and highly motivated team and an internationally highly relevant scientific topic related to neuronal network function in the formation of memory and spatial learning.

 

We further offer an excellently equipped laboratory, a state-of-the art 2 Photon Imaging in vivo recording station, optogenetics, in vivo calcium imaging, transgenic animal models and viral vectors.

 

The full-time position is available as soon as possible and initially limited for a period of 3 years.
